Cultural Dos and Taboos
1. A handshake is an acceptable form of greeting.
2. Formal dining situations will reflect a Portuguese influence. Keep the wrists on the table.
3. When invited to dinner, it is fine to bring a small gift for a host or hostess as a token of appreciation.
4. In general, dress is casual but some restaurants and resorts may require formal dress.
5. Beachwear should only be worn at the beach or swimming pool.
6. It is best to always ask a person's permission before you try to photograph them.
