Cultural Dos and Taboos

1. A handshake is an acceptable form of greeting.

2. Women and men should wear casual yet modest dress. Do not wear shorts.

3. The left hand is taboo. Never give or take with the left hand. It is very important that
you never eat with the left hand, especially when eating from a common bowl.

4. As a general rule, one is expected to haggle in the market.

5. Always ask a person's permission before you photograph them, even a child. Do not photograph anything that has to do with the military or government.
