Cultural Dos and Taboos

1. Greetings should include a handshake and inquires about family and health.

2. Hospitality is very important. Always accept food offered to you even if you are not hungry. To reject offerings of food and drink would be an insult to your hosts.

3. Women and men should dress modestly. Shorts or tank tops are unacceptable forms of dress.

4. The left hand is considered taboo and one should not accept or give anything with it.

5. Always ask permission to photograph people. Never photograph anything dealing with the military.
