Ukraine will receive 4.5 billion euros ($4.9 billion) from the European Union through its four-year Ukraine Facility program in the next few days, with an additional 1.5 billion euros ($1.6 billion) to come over the next two months, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on March 8. The comments came during a visit to Kyiv by European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis. Shmyhal said Ukraine anticipates receiving 16 billion euros ($17.5 billion) in economic aid for the budget from the EU this year. The bloc on February 28 approved a four-year, 50 billion euro ($54.7 billion) financing program for Ukraine.
